This newly opened food junction in Dubai is a gem on the rise! Basically, O’Learys Sports Restaurant is a typical American diner I would say but, with a twist of action. I have dined here on different instances and this review will just be a rundown of the overall experience.
Location
O’Learys Sports Restaurant is located a few stores shy form Etihad Travel Mall in Sheikh Zayed road. The diner is very much accessible and with close proximity to Noor Bank metro station (exit 2). Just a few steps from the metro and you’re good for a good dining experience. If you’re traveling by car from SZR bound from Dubai, take the Umm Al Shief Exit whilst if you’re coming from Abu Dhabi, from SZR take exit 42.
Decors and Interiors
You’ll have plenty of things to look and keep your eyes busy with O’Learys Sports Restaurant interiors. It’s just to die for! The walls are bombarded with frames that is all about sports. So hey there people who share the same league and love for football! This is the place to be! And since it’s a sports themed diner, they boast a total of 24 huge TV screens so wherever you might be seating, a digital screen will surely get you covered for whatever sports you want to be in tune with.
It doesn’t end there! Typically, while waiting for the food to get served we usually just busy ourselves with gadgets because we’re millennials or sometimes if we feel like being normal then we opt to have conversations. In O’Learys Sports Restaurant, being chatty and techy would never be a choice! You’ve got to sweat some honey because they have arcade games available on-site. Never have been a sports aficionado but I love playing basketball (even if I’m too small) so I did try a couple of rounds. They also have other games such as pacman (which I usually played back in the ‘90s), transformers, air hockey, foosball etcetera.
Food and Drinks
I love their food! Let’s see, where do we start? Stating the obvious, O’Learys Sports Restaurant serves burgers. I am not a fan of burger but I did try their Boston Celtic Cheese Burger because two friends were raving about O’Learys burgers. It was good although I cannot really give an accurate review and feedback about it because for me all burgers taste the same. Except for the big tasty of McDonalds which is the only burger I crave of eating whenever I get a seasonal hormone rush. For my friends who probably have tasted each and every burger existed, claimed that O’Learys burgers were one of the best they had. Among their list were Foodruckers and Shake Shack.
If you’ve been reading my food journey and following me on Instagram, you’ll know how I’m such a lover of steak (I sometimes cook my own at home). So, I had Rib eye Steak-medium rare as usual with baked potato and Caesar salad on the side. The steak was cooked the way I liked it and in fact very tasty.
I also have tried Pasta Alfredo with beef and Pico de Gallo which I personally love! This is the second time that I had a white pasta with a Pico de Gallo. The pasta was cooked al dente and it taste so good with the steak on top of it. Although I think the garlic bread was a bit burnt out. Summary, it’s a pretty nice tasting pasta.
Homerun combo platter is basically a platter where you’ll be able to delve a lot of starters. It has chicken wings, barbecued ribs onion rings, mozzarella sticks, quesadillas, celery, carrots and with guacamole and Pico de Gallo on the side. I love everything that is on this platter! Everything taste so good especially the quesadilla, the ribs and the chicken wings!
For drinks, you know I’m not a fan of sodas and processed juice so yeah, I ordered fresh lemonade which is so refreshing. Oh, before I forget! the fried ice cream is so goooooooooooood!!!!
Service
Staff are all accommodating and gorgeous haha! Very approachable and food were served on time, except for one time that we dined during lunch.
But yes, great food and great action for O’Learys Sports Restaurant! Would I recommend? Definitely!
What to try?
Definitely try the rib-eye steak, pele burger, pasta alfredo, homerun combo platter and the fried ice cream!
