Waldorf Astoria The Palm Part 1

July 17, 2016

And I’m back after more than a month hiatus and I’m very excited to share my review about my recent stay with Waldorf Astoria,The Palm. Everything I experienced is still vivid I don’t even know how to start!

In celebration of my 26th birthday and our wedding anniversary, hubby and I decided to get a little fancy just so we can experience a bit of a good life. It was a one-night stay (shame!) booked a King Deluxe Palm Sea View room in Waldorf Astoria, The Palm, Dubai

Waldorf Astoria, The Palm is located obviously in crescent road in Dubai Palm Jumierah. Almost next to Sofitel and Anantara Dubai Resort. Upon arriving at the hotel I felt really nervous as it is my first time entering to such kind of elegance. I felt like an awkward queen being served by marvelous people. The concierge staff pulled out my things from the trunk of a chartered ride and attended my things as they wait for me to finish my check-in. Upon entering their gargantuan door, I was greeted by a lady and addressed me by my name (how attentive to details can these people get!).

I feel bad for forgetting the name of the lady who did my check-in. Her name starts with “C”, she’s a blonde-if that’ll help people in Waldorf Astoria, The Palm give her recognition for such amazing service. She walked me to my room whilst she was explaining all the amenities and directions of the hotel. Upon entering the room, my jaw almost dropped because of how nice and elegant the room was. I was not even attentive to what “C” (the receptionist) was explaining about the amenities inside the room. Everything is fucking amazing (sorry for the profanity-it was that intense). The luggage was delivered just in time before “C” left and wished us a happy anniversary.

I spent the whole 15 minutes strolling around the room, walking outside the balcony and appreciating the view of The Palm. Even the bathroom was pristine anyone can stay there for a good sleep. Amenities are not branded as Waldorf Astoria, The Palm but obviously since this hotel is all about luxury, I can expect nothing less than a Salvatore Ferragamo bath essentials like a Business class seat in Qatar Airways giving away Giorgio Armani traveler kit.

The complimentary tea and coffee are not your ordinary Nescafe nor Lipton tea bags. They’re TWG tea and capsule coffee in where you have to put inside the coffee machine and voila! You have your coffee! A complimentary cake was given to us by Waldorf Astoria, The Palm team and a personalized note from Mark Dalit-our personal concierge.

Let’s move on to the bed! It is COMFORTABLE! Yep, I really want to reiterate that I had a very good night sleep because of their quality bed and pillows (I even tried stealing one-that was a joke). The room was very clean, quiet plus with a nice balcony view. What more can I ask for?

After me and hubby delve ourselves with such luxury. We did our traditional exchange gift whenever there’s a special occasion to be celebrated. I gave him an Ipad Pro whilst he gave me a bunch of things that made me happy. He blind folded me and opened my eyes to 1. Several love notes 2. Books (he gave me 3) 3. Headphones (because I love music) 4. Chocolates (patchi, kitkat and reeses ) 5. Framed picture of our wedding 6. Flowers.

During the stay with Waldorf Astoria The Palm, I personally didn’t feel like I was still in Dubai. It felt like a proper staycation where in I get to explore a different side of Dubai rather than knowing it as a very busy city for an expat like me. It felt like I flew to a different place without actually dragging myself to the hassle of long plane flying. The hotel looked odd when I first had a sight of it and that’s probably because everything was immaculately white. The hotel is huge and quiet with places for adults and kids alike. They have their own garden in where I think they plant some vegetables and fruit bearing plants. They have this intimidating grand staircase leading to their restaurants and the beach. It was intensely amazing and I felt really happy for an almost 24-hour escape from life.

Would I recommend Waldorf Astoria The Palm? Definitely, everything is worth recommending. The hotel, the amenities, the restaurants, most especially the service. Everyone is always willing to help with a good smile (even if you’re just talking to them over the phone you’ll feel their passion for giving quality service.)
