Waldorf Astoria, The Palm: Part II

August 4, 2016

Continuing good things about Waldorf Astoria The Palm into narration (if you haven’t read the first part of this post click here).

The stay we had was just a short one-night stay which limits us only to basically dine, sleep, swim, a bit of a stroll and of course take pictures! The next day we got off the bed early because we want to take a swim.We filled up our hungry tank and had our breakfast at Mezzerie restaurant. The buffet choices are pretty much okay, especially the freshly baked goods and fresh juices. I did just one stroll around the buffet area and decided to just munch on breads, bacon, moutabel (my favorite Arabic dish ever) and sausage.

Right after breakfast we head back to the room to change our outfit for swimming! Waldorf Astoria The Palm have their own private beach area with an absolutely amazing view of The Palm, plus a two outdoor pool. We were able to enjoy both beach and pool, but if I were to choose between the two, I would prefer the pool.

Given that The Palm is a reclamation area, it’s no secret that everything is hence man-made including the beach. The sand is rocky which is something that I don’t really adore because it purely hurts my feet. I’m used to beaches that has powdery white sand and this is nothing close to it (try Boracay Island in the Philippines). Apparently while we were swimming, a friendly jelly fish swim across and so we decided to get off (I freaked).

The pool is where we’ve spent most of our time and I personally love it. I miss swimming ecstatically even though I’m not a pro at swimming. The view in the pool is great, and they serve drinks and food too. They have cabanas with curtains that could sit two people in one beach bed which is perfect for me and hubby. The water is a bit cold but it was perfectly fine for a very hot and humid weather in Dubai. Pool and beach area is open from 7 am until 7 pm.

They also have of beach activities such as banana boat and boat tour. They have their own RTA port at the beach area where you can book a water taxi (link here to book). The rest of the time after swimming we spent it by just stroll around the lush green garden of the hotel.

The check-out part was really heart breaking. I never want to leave yet. There’s so many things that we have not tried yet like their spa, the tea place, and of course Social by Chef Heinz Beck. I guess I’ll leave it to the next visit.

I’m now in-love with Hilton Hotels when I used to be an IHG baby. Awesome experience and service.
